End Parking Fees at CHS!

Join us on March 10th at 5 PM at 900 West Choctaw Avenue, Chickasha, OK 73018, as we rally against Chickasha High School’s unjust parking fees.

Faculty park for free, but students are forced to pay. When asked why, the administration said, “Well, they’re coming to school to work.” Are students not fulfilling their responsibilities too?

Visitors park for free while students are charged. Guests and visiting schools take up student parking spaces without paying, leaving some students without a spot—yet only students are required to pay.

Chickasha’s alternative education facility, The Quality Academy, doesn’t charge students for parking. These students have the same attendance requirements as CHS, yet only CHS students are forced to pay.

Superintendent Rick Croslin claims the parking fee isn’t a burden but admits many students need financial assistance to pay it. Students like Charlie Trowbridge have testified that no assistance was offered when requested.

Other Chickasha schools give free parent passes for pick-up. High school students, however, are treated differently and expected to pay for parking.

CHS has engaged in hazardous and unjust ticketing practices. In previous years, faculty placed large, hard-to-remove stickers on student vehicles without passes—some of which were wrongly ticketed. These stickers obstructed visibility and created a safety hazard.

The parking fee generates minimal revenue. Principal Debby Davis admitted in a recorded conversation that the activity fund supposedly funded by parking fees is mostly made up of voluntary fundraiser money.

CHS claims to create a ‘positive learning environment,’ yet its policies place unnecessary financial stress on students. This contradicts its own mission statement.

Parking fees are being misallocated. Croslin admitted that these fees subsidize extracurricular activities rather than campus maintenance, forcing students to fund programs they may not even participate in.

Students who drive save the school money. The administration argues that transportation is provided, but students who drive reduce the burden on bus routes. By their logic, why aren’t bus riders charged a fee?

CHS and CPS administration are dodging public debate. A formal debate challenge was emailed and hand-delivered on camera during the January board meeting—yet no response has been given.

Students’ private complaints have been ignored for years. Croslin and Davis claim they’re “disappointed” students didn’t bring this up privately, but students have voiced concerns for years, only to be dismissed.

Students shouldn’t be taxed just to park at their own school. This is nothing more than an unnecessary cash grab, and we’re standing up to fight back.

Make your voice heard. Demand change. Defend your rights.

Show up, bring your friends, and let’s put an end to these ridiculous fees.
