Alex Mittendorf, observing the vulnerability of the student body at SUNY Cobleskill, took decisive action. Serving as a state chair at the time, he collaborated with then Deputy Regional Director of the Northeast, Tony Mesta, to mount a robust response. Leveraging their extensive network of alliances on campus, Alex and Tony swiftly gathered over 400 signatures within a few days. Alex, acting as the catalyst, personally delivered the petitions, compelling the administration to revise the policy in the subsequent semester. On 8/28/2024 Tony Mesta confirmed Cobleskill changed its policies after a long battle of asking them to update the handbook for over a year.
