Administrative and Events Assistant — 1 Year Term Position

The National Association of Scholars (NAS) is a non-profit higher education reform organization. Responsibilities

§  Events:

o   Oversee and manage the planning and logistics for conferences and events across the U.S.

o   Identify and correspond with vendors for events

o   Identify event spaces for potential NAS events

o   Work with NAS staff to invite speakers, attendees, press, and sponsors for events

 

§  Administrative:

o   Schedule calls and meetings

o   Assisting with the drafting and editing of letters and articles

o   Organizing physical news clippings

o   Collaborate with NAS staff on projects as needed

§  Desire to further NAS’s mission to improve higher education

§  Highly organized

§  Attentive to detail

§  Familiar with event planning and logistics

§  Professional in correspondence

§  Takes initiative

§  Creative

§  Strong writing and editing ability

§  Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

 

Salary and hours

§  40 hours per week

§  The position will pay in the $40,000 range, with competitive benefits and insurance.

§  This position is for a one year term, from January 2020 through December 2020. There is a possibility for the position to become permanent, dependent on NAS’s needs.
