1st Meeting at Carleton College

Carleton College recently held our first YAL meeting.

During our meeting, we introduced the new members to Young Americans for Liberty. We went over the speaker for the week, a transgender undocumented rights activist, Jennicet Gutierrez, among other conferences and speakers this year. The new students seemed enthralled by YAL’s intellectual and career opportunities!

We finished the meeting with a conversation on the meaning of liberty. Of course, more liberal members argued that liberty only exists in social context and is inherently tied to civic duty. However as libertarians, most of our members were able to effectively state the moral foundation for inalienable individual rights.
