79% of Americans Favor Auditing the Fed

That’s almost 8/10!  From the Humble Libertarian:

Rasmussen Reports (H/T to Daily Paul):

“Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke on Thursday voiced his opposition to legislation calling for regular audits of the Fed’s monetary policies, but 79% [holy cow!] of Americans think auditing the Fed is a good idea.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that just seven percent (7%) [why on earth?] of adults oppose auditing the Federal Reserve and making those results available to the public. Fourteen percent (14%) are not sure [just read this].”

Awesome! Remember when it felt like 79% of people didn’t even have a clue what the Fed was and why it needs to be audited (and ended!)? And now that many Americans thinks it needs an audit! That’s twice as many as there are who support the Democrats’ plans to reform health care!

Read more of this great story here.  This is good news — now we just need to make sure the bill doesn’t get watered down or tied to other, unfortunate pieces of legislation.
