On the week of April 15th, colleges around the nation including our chapter here at James Madison University took part in a screening to promote free speech. “Can we take a joke” brought awareness to the political correct culture and what it means in our lives today.
Through the screening, students heard stories about the different things that have happened to people who dared to say what was on their mind. We also had a discussion about the movie and who it pertains to our campus in particularly since James Madison was the person wrote the First Amendment. Most importantly this was our first event as a chapter so we hope to build off of this success and do even greater things in the Fall Semester.
