Can We Take A Joke at the University of South Carolina

On Tuesday April 12th, the YAL chapter at the University of South Carolina had a viewing of the documentary “Can We Take A Joke.” We wanted to bring awareness on the importance of free speech on college campuses.

Many of the people in attendance were surprised to learn how much free speech rights have improved since the 1960’s but only to see them restricted with the rise of political correctness.

After the movie others explained their viewpoints and we talked about the future of free speech in America. The documentary was a huge success and we plan on watching it again at the beginning of next semester.
