We were not able to show the “Can We Take A Joke” documentary till April 27th due to the possibility of faculty going on strike on campus. Fortunately, that was resolved at the last minute but limited us in time to promote the screening. Nonetheless, our YAL chapter worked our tails off to be able to show the movie, and as a result several students came to watch the documentary.
Luckily for us the students that did show up seemed to genuinely enjoy the movie. The documentary portrayed an important message in regards to freedom of speech on a college campus and in a free society in general.
We hope to use this momentum to roll into the fall semester and have quite a few events next year since we are a very new chapter.
