If anyone wants to witness capitalism in its purest form, they need not travel to Singapore or Hong Kong; simply travel to a concert.
On Thursday, I was at the Phish concert at Darien Lake. No regulations. No red tape. No bureaucrats. No governmental nonsense. Contrary to the doomsayers, the area did not burn to the ground. People were not robbed blindly and no one died from contaminated food. To say it in two words: Capitalism thrived. People sold everything from clothes, food, and souvenirs to “illegal substances.” The concert goers thought for themselves without being dictated what to do and they got what they wanted. Everything worked like a well oiled machine. Think of it as a microcosm of capitalism.
