Our Young Americans For Liberty chapter at the University of Utah arranged to table at the 15th Annual Hunger Banquet on campus. The event featured Utah State Representative Sandra Hollins and she discussed the hunger and homeless issues in Utah.
Several people came up to ask about our organization. There were about 50 people at this event. There was one person that identified herself as a Socialist. We had a good discussion with her about liberty versus socialism. We shared with everybody that the most effective way to assist people in need was to give voluntarily and not depend on the government’s inefficient and wasteful welfare system. Everyone we talked to left with books and other materials we had available.Published in
