After a rainout during “Fall Fest,” the University of North Carolina’s annual activities fair, the newly reforming UNC YAL chapter tabled all week in hopes of attracting new recruits. Friday, a quasi-makeup for the rained-out Fall Fest, was by far our most successful day of recruiting.
With a box of Pall Mall cigarettes and carrot sticks serving as our hook (exercise in free choice), we were able to identify and convince over 60 students to sign up for our list serve and learn more at our information meeting (August 30th). Over the past few days, that total is over 80.
Our chapter desperately needs to win the Recruitment Drive so that we can purchase a YAL banner to table even MORE effectively. We did find, nonetheless, that resources from our partners in Students for Liberty and Operation Politically Homeless were invaluable. Over 75 students took the “world’s smallest political quiz” at our table today.Published in
