On Tuesday March 21, 2017 Cliff Maloney Jr. joined the Kutztown chapter of Young Americans for Liberty at our meeting. Cliff has been on congressional, senatorial, and presidential campaigns and is currently the President of Young Americans for Liberty. His talk was called, “The Political Process: Access Vs. Ideas.” He spoke to the students about how to win in the American political system. Many students came to the event and were very interested in his talk. A lot of the students who came have interest in being in politics someday which made his talk very informative to them. Rarely on the Kutztown campus do we see speakers come out about the political process from a non-partisan stance. With this speech being non-partisan it allowed the students to not have views pushed on them. The event was an overall success. The students felt engaged and afterwards some became interested in the club.
After the event our chapter members held a social at a local restaurant. Cliff Maloney Jr. and Justin Greiss came to the Kutztown Tavern with us. It was a nice place for the club to bond and get to spend time with Cliff and Justin. Many people in the chapter have not yet met Cliff and Justin yet so it was nice to be one-on—one with them. Our club would like to thank Cliff and Justin for coming out to Kutztown to talk to our students. We are very grateful for the experience.Published in
