This past Friday, Congressman Walter Jones stopped by NC State University as a keynote speaker for a Restore the Fourth event co-sponsored by NC State and Wake Tech Young Americans for Liberty chapters. The Congressman discussed the importance of privacy and honestly told the crowd that he believed serious campaign finance reform is first necessary before legislation to fortify privacy protection can really be possible.
Expanding a bit on campaign finance reform, the Congressman also discussed a wide range of policy categories affected by dirty money like the debt cieling, foreign policy and the war on drugs. Ultimately, the event was very somber as he voiced his regret for bad votes he had made in the past, one of which was a vote to enter into the Iraq war. He came accross as very sincere and transparent, and the audience had overwhelmingly positive feedback for the speaking event which came after a few hours of tabling. Overall, this was a great success. HUGE thank you to YAL at Wake Tech. You guys rock!Published in
