Last Thursday was bright and sunny in Cincinnati, Ohio as Xavier University’s Young Americans for Liberty chapter celebrated Constitution Day on campus. Armed with a giant, handmade Constitution replica, members talked with students about our nation’s founding document and solicited signups for their chapter.
Students were very enthusiastic about signing the replica Constitution, which made for a great way to get students engaged before asking them if they had heard of Young Americans for Liberty before. Those who haven’t were given a pocket constitution, information card, and encouraged to come to our next meeting.
After five hours of tabling, the chapter got three sheets of sign ups and added 40 additional students to their steadily growing mailing list. They also handed out the entire collections of pocket Constitutions provided by YAL National.
Later that evening, students attended a Constitution Day lecture held on campus and went to a social event after at the pub on campus. Liberty is alive and well on Xavier University’s campus. Stay tuned for our blog post on our “Drowning in Debt Dunk Tank” next week!Published in
