Constitution week was really active here at KSU. We set up a table in several different locations on campus throughout the week. We got to reach out to new people on campus about who we are and what we do. We handed out many copies of the Constitution to students and had some great conversations about what it means today in government. Not only did we invigorate new students into joining our group, we got current members excited about this semester’s plans! On Thursday we had 8 members out with us each talking to a different student about joining.
This all lead up to our event on Monday the 24th where we, along with the College Libertarians of KSU, held a viewing of ‘Shouting Fire: Stories from the Edge of Free Speech’. With the help of CLOKSU and YAL we were able to provide pizza and drinks(best way to get hungry and poor college kids out). It was a great success with several new members showing up and a great discussion afterwards about how we should not limit free speech even under the gravest of circumstances.
This was just the beginning of what we have planned here at KSU. We’re planning many more days of campus activism, along with speakers like Tom G. Palmer — but more on that later!Published in
