To start, there is no such thing as a “normal” day as a development fellow at YAL. Each day is filled with different challenges that require different solutions. Some days it is our task to set meetings with donors that have never heard of YAL and others we have the opportunity to talk with previous donors and thank them for their contributions. Some days we are working on direct mail letters and other days writing thank you letters. Each new venture is a way for us to reconnect with donors to continue to spread the mission of Liberty to others. Working here has taught me many technical skills but the most important lesson that I have learned is how to take all the tasks that I have and break them down into manageable objectives so I do not overwhelm myself.
