Purdue Young Americans for Liberty hosted a great screening of “Deep Web” Tuesday evening. Most of the members in the audience had little to no knowledge of the Deep Web, or that it even existed, until last night. While watching the documentary and seeing how the events unfolded, you could really feel the suspense and gravity of the situation. How could the government do that, is that proof or suspicion, how could someone so well intentioned really do what the courts propose? All of these questions filled the air while the movie kept rolling.
As the movie concluded, we discussed our opinions on the documentary and what our opinions were on internet privacy rights. The film brought new ideas to our chapter, and we will continue to discuss them in our future. As technology and the internet continue to grow, we will have to be there fighting for Constitutional privacy every step of the way.Published in
