Young Americans for Liberty at the University of Tennessee decided not to have their weekly meeting on Wednesday. Several of our members chose to go enjoy beer and wings instead. You can never go wrong with that combination.
The Jacobs Agency in Knoxville organized an event “Eat Wings, Help Kids” to help out the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Glenn Jacobs (aka KANE from the WWE) and his wife own the Jacobs Agency. Buffalo Wild Wings donated ten percent of every order to the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, along with the Jacobs Agency matching that up to five hundred dollars. It was a full house of a variety of people coming out to see Jacobs and to help kids.
Group picture with Jacobs; he wanted to meet everyone.
Excitement came when Glenn Jacobs and Ben Frederickson began their spicy wing match. Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett was the special referee. Jacobs easily won. The crowd loved it.
We didn’t go to the event just to meet Jacobs. The purpose was to help the children. Anytime we can voluntarily give to charities we all should take part. For those who are unfamiliar with Jacobs he has spoken at the Liberty Political Action Conference (LPAC) for the past two years. The media was also there covering the event. I made sure to get a “famous mayor” selfie with our YAL members.
