Federal Commission Panel seeks to raise fuel taxes

Joan Lowy of the Associated Press writes, “A 50 percent increase in gasoline and diesel fuel taxes is being urged by a federal commission to finance highway construction and repair until the government devises another way for motorists to pay for using public roads.”  I was under the opinion that the American taxpayers have already paid for the roads. Just as gas prices are rapidly falling, federal commissions are trying to find a way to tax us more. Read story here.
