Fight for Free Speech at the University of South Carolina – Sumter

On Wednesday, February 22, the USC Sumter YAL chapter held an event for the Fight for Free Speech. For the event, we built a free speech wall which was set up in front of the Student Union Building. We asked students and faculty members to exercise their right to free speech by writing anything they wanted on our free speech wall. Overall, the event was extremely successful. By the end of the day our entire 4′ x 8′ sheet of paper was filled with opinions, sayings and even quotes. Everyone enjoyed writing on the wall and reading what others had to say. In the future, our chapter hopes to hold many more successful events such as this one.
