The Cleveland State chapter had a successful kick-off to our Constitution Week!
We began with a Free Speech Wall where students were able to exercise their First Amendment rights. The wall was in the Student Center from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., and our fellow students responded!
A lot of the students took to the wall to write words that inspired them or things they’ve always wanted to say. It was great to see so many students engaged on campus.
1) Canvas from Pat Catans.
2) Stick on Letters
3) Canvas writing markers with different color options.
Cost: Around $65
Celebrating freedom: Priceless 🙂
One student wrote that “Being free is amazing.” It truly is amazing the freedoms we have in this country, but we must know our rights to make sure those freedoms are not taken away.
Along with having the wall we passed out over 100 pocket constitutions and 30 copies of the new book Peace, Love & Liberty. We also got several new sign-ups. A lot of students thanked us for passing out the Constitutions, and some even asked if it costed anything. We just smiled and told them they were free.
Days two and three continue this week on Tuesday and Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. On Tuesday we will have a Constitution quiz that will test how well students know the Constitution. Day three will feature a signing of the Constitution in celebration of the Constitution Day on September 17.Published in
