First Meeting and Constitution Week at Pima Community College

YAL @ Pima Community College held our first recruitment drive at the beginning of September, where we managed to get a hard-earned 11 people to attend our first meeting of the semester. The first meeting went amazingly! Many of the attendees were very inspired by the presentation we made about the philosophy of liberty.

We also presented all the past events that we have ever held and closed up the meeting with a short video called “Don’t Eat The Marshmallow!” This video shows the importance of “delaying gratification” as part of success. You can watch the video online here!

Constitution Week followed after the meeting. We held a two-day event where we built our Free Speech Wall and passed out LOTS of Constitutions. It was really cool to see students interested in the Constitution and what we think about it, and some got pretty excited about what we do on campus.

As for recruitment, we got plenty of people talking to us and asking how they could join the organization. We had a good number of sign-ups, totaling about 12. The bottom line is that Constitution Week and our Recruitment Drive at PCC went very well!

Our second meeting of the semester will take place in October 9, and we are expecting more people to come. The next big thing we are doing is a Second Amendment activism event. You’ll hear about it soon!
