This week marks the end of the first month of the Fall semester at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and we’ve come out with a strong start!
The first week we had our Fall Student Organization Showcase and decided to get in as much tabling as possible to prepare for our first meeting on the third days of classes.
First we got some flyers made up. A lot of people liked the meme we ended up using for it, and it started a lot of good conversation
Then we made sure to do some chalking.
Once we had those things ready we got to tabling.
After a good first couple days to warm up, we were ready for the Student Organization Showcase!
We made sure the table was looking good with lots of swag and candy.
(Note: Laffy Taffy and hot Carolina sun don’t mix well!)
The NOLAN Chart worked great at getting people interested in our message!
We got a ton of attention on campus, and our mascot Norm the Niner decided to stop by for a bit!
Once the Showcase was over we headed straight to our first meeting.
The picture quality is bad for our first meeting pictures, but the turnout was really good. About 15-20 people came to learn about liberty and eat free pizza. We got a couple new officers as well!
We didn’t want to let our momentum stop with the first meeting, so we have continued tabling at least twice every week and plan to continue at this rate.
Our second meeting came two weeks later and we continued tabling, flyering, and chalking so we could have a turnout like this:
After the meeting we then all went to a local bar, The Flying Saucer and held a North Carolina US Senate Debate viewing party with some help from some friends in Generation Opportunity. It was a great success!
It’s sure to be a great year for liberty at UNCC!Published in
