First Recruitment Event, Chester

On Thursday August 30th, 2017, the Chester Young Americans for Liberty held its first campaigning to get sign-ups from interested students and signatures for the petition to be recognized by the University. To assist us in our efforts, Ben England, from the Leadership Institute, came to the campus. We began the day with a brief lunch to get everyone involved acquainted with one another. We began campaigning right after that at around 12:30 PM, and we continued until 2:00 PM when our members had to get to class.

There was a University Involvement Fair at the same time; however, we could not set up a table as we are not yet recognized. We intended to clipboard at the event but we were told that we could not attend the involvement fair in any capacity. Instead, we walked around campus talking to students about the Young Americans for Liberty to see if we could generate any interest. By the end of the day, we had gotten fifty-two signatures from students who were interested in learning more about the organization.
