Free Markets Activism

On Feb 19 , 2013 Young Americans for Liberty of Indiana University of Pennsylvania participated in Free Markets 101 to educate our classmates.

YAL @ IUP used the “Rags or Riches” activism kit which shows students the relationship between economic freedom and average income for each of the 10 countries’ populations.

Some were surprised at US ranking number four , but other students ranked the US even lower.  It appeared that many students understood that the US is now falling behind in terms of economic freedom compared to countries such as Singapore and our neighbors to the north, Canada.

This activism event fostered discussion on the importance of economic freedom and how people in economically free nations have better opportunities and experience poverty to a lesser extent than people in nations whose state dictates the nature of the economy through regulations.
