Free Speech at Oakland University

After a very successful day of free speech at Eastern Michigan University, Nate Berning of the Leadership Institute and myself decided to make Oakland University the next location for our free speech tour. Sadly, the Michigan weather didn’t take too kindly to our free speech ball event on November 10th – but we weren’t going to let sleet and 20+ mph winds stop us.

Even though the ball got away from us a couple times, students continued to stop by and talk to us about free speech at OU. The piercing wind and bitter cold didn’t hold students back from writing on the free speech ball, in which we received a large spectrum of political statements, motivational quotes, and 21 Savage lyrics. Although the weather was horrendous, the turnout wasn’t. We received over 100+ sign-ups, and we were able to locate other liberty-minded students that we’re interested in joining the movement.

Not even the temperament of Michigan’s weather can stop the liberty train.
