Free Speech Prevails at Illinois State University

On Thursday, November 16th, I was joined by  Nathan Williamson from the Leadership Institute, Jack Lorenz from Turning Point USA, and fellow Young Americans for Liberty member David Harbeson of Purdue University. We handed out pro-liberty flyers, pocket Constitutions, and we had students sign our free speech board and sign the Leadership Institute’s free speech petition. We received great feedback from the students, and regardless of their political party affiliation, a majority of the students on ISU’s campus support free speech. It is was heartwarming to see this support despite the partisan political climate and I am confident that we will be successful in the Spring. I appreciated the support of David as he came out from Purdue and look forward to working with other local YAL leaders next semester.
