On Thursday, October 27th, the George Washington University Young Americans for Liberty hosted their Halloween themed event, “Yaloween”. Members constructed a civil liberties graveyard with headstones that pointed to many of the civil liberties that have been infringed upon, such as “School Choice”, “Self Defense”, “Free Speech”, “Self Ownership”, and “Habeas Corpus”.
Members handed out candy and informational flyers to students who stopped by the headstone display. We were extremely pleased with the results- many students responded positively to the headstone display. It drew a lot of attention and attracted new libertarian-minded individuals to our YAL chapter who loved the activism event and were excited for opportunities to get further involved. The GW YAL chapter was enthusiastic about educating people on their civil liberties and discussing issues that the GW community cares about.Published in
