Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich claims that he is one of the handful of potential 2012 Republican Presidential Candidates. “I think I’m probably on a list of seven or eight possible candidates at this stage,” Gingrich said.
After days and perhaps weeks of media speculation, Gingrich finally confirmed that he may run in 2012, saying:
We have a lot of people around the country who would like to have somebody who represents a commitment to replace the current failed programs and to develop a set of solutions that are practical and workable.
Failed programs indeed, Mr. Gingrich.
I would love to hear his stance on the liberty movement. Gingrich himself is not a favorite among many conservatives, so the the idea of of him running is a pretty egotistical move. After all, where is his stance on the “War On Terror” and the War on Drugs? How about the corrupt Federal Reserve System and the PATRIOT Act? I am sure we all know the answers to these questions, since he is nothing but an establishment Republican.
I know I am not the only one who finds this humorous. In fact, this is almost as humorous as when people think Bobby Jindal is an authentic conservative. Clearly, if 2012 will present us with establishment Republicans like Newt, then there really is no immediate hope for the restoration of America to liberty and the true limited government it was designed to have.Published in
