Last week, the Ramapo chapter of YAL held an informational table about the TSA. We provided pamphlets highlighting your rights concerning the TSA. Students were also able to write down their thoughts and feelings about the TSA on a big poster, and got Mardi Gra’s beads for participating. To no ones’ surprise, many students feel violated by the TSA and think TSA screenings are an invasion of privacy. Responses ranged from “Unneccessary invasion of privacy” all the way to “F*ck that.” The event was successful in making students aware of how their rights are being violated and gave them a chance to speak out about it. We’re looking foward to our next activism event — Visualizing the Debt.
