Incarceration Nation @ IUS

The Indiana University Southeast YAL had a blast carrying out our first Incarceration Nation event.

Many of our students had a curious face when they saw our Mugshot Area posted and then they were even more curious as they saw others getting their own Mugshots.

Our mission was to bring awareness of unjust laws, cruel and unusual punishments, and America’s unusual prison population for mostly non-violent drug offenses to the student body.

Discussions were constant as students passed by during their lunch breaks. Topics ranged from hot baths being illegal during the winter in Indiana to a student being fined for collecting rain water.

Many students agreed that we ought to have prison reform, especially for non-violent drug offenses.

It was truly an awesome experience to be a part of.

The Liberty Movement is out there and its growing!
