Interest Meeting at Antonin Scalia Law School

The Antonin Scalia Law School chapter of YAL held its interest meeting on September 19, right after Constitution Day. We had a decent turnout of about 15 people and served pizza to attendees. At the meeting, we discussed what YAL is all about, as well as opportunities to get involved both on campus and throughout the DC area. We had a discussion about what brought people to the meeting and to the ideas of liberty, and concluded with announcements for our plans for the semester, which is to host Renée Flaherty, an attorney at the Institute for Justice, for a discussion on civil forfeiture on September 26 and Stephanie Slade of Reason Magazine for a talk on religious liberty on October 31. We’re looking forward to the rest of the semester. We’re sure it’s going to be great.
