“I’m going to give you a little advice. There’s a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball. ..
“Just be the ball, be the ball, be the ball. You’re not being the ball Danny.”
Ty Webb, Caddyshack
Have you ever read a newspaper and thought, “Are these guys total sellouts or just deaf, dumb and blind?” I finally came to the conclusion that yes, the deaf, dumb and blind can print newspapers as witnessed by reading articles in my town’s local Columbus Dispatch printing company’s daily “news”paper.
Yeah. That’s right. A local printing company enjoys political clout by endorsing candidates and deciding what their readers need to know–which evidently, isn’t much.
I admit, I have no journalism degree. I also admit to to having eyes, ears and a brain that are all functioning quite well. Yet despite all these things that set me so far removed from my more mainstream ‘colleagues,’ I decided to “just be the media” anyway.
It’s like Ty Cobb said, “There’s a force in the universe that makes things happen.”
It turns out, “the force” can be you.
