On February 8, the Rocky Mountain College YAL chapter set up a booth in the Student Union during lunch. At the booth, we had print-outs with facts about immigration and those it affects. In addition, pocket Constitutions and candy were given out. We had two white boards on which people could voice their opinion about building a border wall or a proposed travel ban. We asked students who were passing by if they were for or against the wall and/or the travel ban.
We were able to engage in good discussion with supporters and those who opposed the policies. It was a successful way to reach out to students and talk to them about real world issues while getting YAL’s name out there.Published in
