Medical Marijuana Protest

YAL students at the Capital

This week YAL @ the University of Kansas helped organize a protest at the Capital building in Kansas to push for the legalization of medical marijuana, which has been shown to be a potential cure for cancer. Our main focus was helping YAL @ Washburn University gain membership and establish an official chapter. Bryan Lunzmann, a student at Washburn, has taken initiative to make this happen. The protest was a great success. We had about 100 people come out with signs, there was a live band and there was many speakers calling for the legalization of medical marijuana in Kansas. Our table was a great success. We had many people coming to our table interested in the Constitution and how it applied to there cause. We had a few sign ups with whom Bryan intends to follow up in hopes of establishing an official chapter.
