On September 1st, 2017 Carson-Newman University started off the fall semester with its first ever YAL membership drive at the “Big Scoop”! After months of attempting to charter we are now an official club with the school. During our event we managed to sign up 34 students! The Big Scoop, which was an ice cream social for various clubs to take part in, gave us a platform to reach out to others on campus and hand out pocket constitutions in the name of liberty. Several students were passionate about taking part in upcoming events as well as all the opportunities YAL provides across the country. Some students even expressed interest in helping further YAL’s efforts on campus and learning more about our newly formed club. It was a very successful first day indeed. Our club plans to have our first meeting within the next two weeks. A movement has been started on Carson-Newman’s campus and we look forward to watching it grow! A huge thank you goes out to Daniel Lopez and Nathan Keeble for helping take part in our event!
