In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq, Young Americans for Liberty from Mesa Community College advocated for the end to not only the war on “terror,” but for an end to all unconstitutional wars.
Along with our fantastic Generation of War activism kit, we constructed two life-sized cutouts of former President George W. Bush and President Barrack Obama as Grim Reapers of sorts (eerie images to say the least); needless to say, we received mixed responses.
Draped around our former and current Presidents’ necks are the numbers of the lives lost and dollars spent for their respective contributions to the War on Terror.
It’s safe to say that this was an effective day. It’s horrible, however, that we have to have this discussion. People die everyday in the name of freedom while the state continues to destroy it at home. Hopefully, someday, we can all look back at this event and know that these types of things are just a memory. Hopefully, someday, trade, not armies, crosses all borders.Published in
