On Saturday January 31, Nebraska held its annual “Walk for Life” with over 4,000 people in attendance at the state capitol building.
I love Ron Paul’s words on abortion,”If you can’t protect life then how can you protect liberty?” I strongly agree with this, so I joined in this peaceful protest. We ended at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Student Union for the keynote speaker, Mario St. Francis.
Many pro-life organizations had set up booths. One of the interesting tables there was the Nebraska Coalition for Ethical Research, an organization seeking to replace embryonic stem cell research with adult stem cells. From their website, “Biomedical research must respect the whole person, body and spirit, at every stage of development and guarantee the basic human rights of equality and nondiscrimination.” The event had a highly successful attendance, even though the weather was inclement.Published in
