A Mississippi lawyer was jailed for half a day because he didn’t say the Pledge of Allegiance. The irony: That bit in the pledge about “liberty and justice for all.” The legality: Pretty sure the jailing was illegal per West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette (1943).
- Federal agents combed over every inch of an Atlanta bus station…for absolutely no reason. No, really, for no reason. As the agents put it themselves, “no particular threat sparking the surge in activity, just their desire to ward off any potential attacks.” Is the TSA gearing up to impose their supposed security measures on all public transport?
