Today, Senator Chris Dodd is anticipated to announce that he will not be seeking reelection. This annoncement has just come less that 24 hours after Senator Byron Dorgan announced he will not seek reelection either.
Dodd’s political future seemed a bit gloomy and uncertain since poll numbers showed him lagging. His political problems escalated after his failed attempt to get the Democratic nomination for the seat. There is solid evidence that Dodd has been included in a special VIP mortgage loan program by the CEO of Countrywide. Eventually, he was cleared up by the Senate Ethics Commitee.
Dodd will leave little credibility and legacy behind his congressional career. The Republican challengers for his seat include financial analyst Peter Schiff.Published in
