This past Friday on January 19th, Northwestern College set up a table in their student center and held their very first membership drive. Chapter President, Eric Wasson, set the display up with the help of two Dordt college students including Brandon Fokkema (Iowa State YAL President). The chapter ended up with 23 signups, all from a vast array of the political spectrum.
Wasson comments on the diversity of opinions saying, “I think we had a lot of students that didn’t know they were far more centrist than they believed. We had a lot of students with different backgrounds. It will help that they’ll represent different portions of the population. I think there were also some people that weren’t very informed, so we want to educate them and help them formulate their own opinions.”
Northwestern College YAL will hold it’s first open house meeting on January 25th where we’ll hopefully encounter some new and familiar faces. The meeting will consist of introductions and an overview of the organization.Published in
