On a very cold day in Flagstaff, Arizona we took to the student union to advocate for free speech! Northern Arizona University has some strict speaking guidelines, one even being you can’t make jokes if someone else can find them offensive. We went around telling students the silly policies and used the enormous Free Speech Ball to help grab some attention.
It was within the first 20 minutes of setting up a staff member told us we shouldn’t be here, and more specifically, that chalk was strictly against the schools rules. We stayed.
Students at NAU loved the free speech ball and pocket constitutions flew off our table. It is amazing to see the spark of students who are tired of the P.C. culture that is taking over campuses nationwide. This was only our first event here but we will definitely continue to make some noise.Published in
