Obama Thrilled for Bush’s Executive Powers

A few months ago I wrote for personal purposes on the dangers of a probable Obama Presidency with all the outrageous Executive powers the Bush administration created. November 4th that happened. And today, The Hill commented on a slightly depressing interview between Vice President Dick Cheney and “conservative” talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Cheney told Limbaugh the Obama Administration will be fortunate to inherit the large Executive Branch.

“My guess is, once they get here and they’re faced with the same problems we deal with every day, that they will appreciate some of the things we put in place,” said Cheney Monday in a telephone interview with conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh

And of course, it goes without saying, Obama has never mentioned returning powers to its Constitutional limits. Captain Obvious Cheney commented on that too,

“I think the Obama administration is not likely to cede that authority back to the Congress…I think they’ll find that given a challenge they face they’ll need all the authority they can muster.”

My heart sunk a little with that last quote. I’m not sure why. I always knew that the Bush posse had little respect for the Constitution, but to hear him talk so unashamedly about taking away Congressional power befuddled me.
