Our chapter here at OU had an awesome recruitment drive. We ended up with over twenty-five signups on the email list and our follow-up social that week had seven new members in attendance.
The same number was present at out introductory meeting, where we weighed in on new member interest. For the first time, we have a significant number of people interested in activism, enough for us to have a significant amount of manpower in planning our first YAL activism event.
Our plan is to have a Free Speech Wall erected during Constitution Week, using the resources generously provided by YAL, to protest the restrictive Free Speech policies on our campus. We’ve had a great start to our year and can only expect, with YAL’s continued support, to grow and have more successful events in the coming future.Published in
