The Spring semester kicked off strong for the Purdue University YAL chapter. Historically, the spring semester has been the hardest in which to recruit new members. Our chapter hit the ground running to put on a strong first meeting. We tabled, put up flyers, and wrote first meeting notices on chalk/marker boards in lecture halls across campus.
The first meeting went well and successfully brought new faces into the group. In order to keep the momentum, we had a full slate of activism, outings, as well as plans for future collaborations with other political organizations.
Activism events included having poster liberty displays as well as a planned joint tabling event with other organizations on campus. Outings have included attending a talk by free speech activist Nadine Strossen organized by the Purdue Graduate Student Government.
This successful spring semester at PuYAL has put the chapter in good shape for an even stronger next semester.
