The first week of February was a successful week of recruiting at Northeastern State University.
On Tuesday, NSU students had the opportunity to come to our table and discuss their differences in political views and get a better understanding of what YAL is about. Many students have heard of us on campus or were interested last semester but didn’t have the time to join.
Thursday was all about YAL’s Fight for Free Speech. Students got to come write on our free speech poster and say what was on their mind. This had students engaging on a different level as we addressed issues facing many universities today as far as freedom of thought both in the classroom and across campus.
On both days, faculty approached the table to thank us for our cause on campus, which is extremely rewarding since many students have to fight for campus presence.
Overall this was a successful week of recognition as well as a week of expanding our chapter, resulting in a few new dues paying members who are very excited for our Spring summit!Published in
