The Daily Texan is the newspaper of The University of Texas at Austin. Yesterday, an opinion column was published that proposed a federal tax for “any meal well above a third of your recommended calorie intake” that is served at eating establishments.
I wrote a response, which was published in The Daily Texan today. My response was entitled “No Fat Tax II”.

I drew information from common-sense as well as a Mises.org article I had read in the past. I used a quote from the USDA because the person who wrote the original article loves to cite government organizations for information; however, it is worth noting that there is currently no general consensus by the scientific community on the health benefits of organic food.Published in
