Reviving YAL at the University of Illinois – Chicago

Last Monday I and Illinois State Chair Amber Loveshe spent some time clip-boarding on the UIC campus. This was the first step of the semester to bring the UIC Young Americans for Liberty Chapter back to life.

Although somewhat active throughout the past few years, the chapter has fallen into a state of inaction. Clip-boarding yielded a few signatures from either already politically involved individuals on campus or somewhat interested students. In the first few weeks early in the school year, William Ball and I managed to get a really good list of 30+ sign ups and prospective members.

Gaging interest and registering as an official campus organization is in progress, but I’m still looking forward to putting together a free speech event and discovering some libertarians on campus this year!
