On April 5th and 7th, Rio Hondo’s own YAL group — though not yet officially recognized by the school — made its debut loud and clear by hosting ‘Visualize the Debt’ in the lower quad of the main campus. Many passing students were pleasently shocked to see such a large display of interest in national politics by fellow students.
No longer a fringe topic on campus, the huge national debt prop was an excellent play for liberty’s books in Whittier! Thanks to YAL’s Bonnie Kristian for the last minute media list — we were succesfully covered by two local newspapers in one swipe. Talk about killing two birds with one stone! We were featured in both the Whittier Daily News and the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
