Samford Membership Drive

We here at Samford University had our membership drive this week, and it was a blast. It was your generic membership drive, with about fifty pounds of resources to give away and good people working the table with me. I saw a fun idea on Facebook for “pot brownies,” which was a hit. I simply baked some delicious Ghirardelli brownies the night before, packed them in individual bags, put them in two large pots, and gave them away to anyone who would take them. People adored the pun and took a genuine interest in our ideas. I’ve been the president of this chapter for a year and a half now, but never have I had such genuine new interest in our group. We finally found enough people that we have the number needed to maintain full recognition status with the university, and our small community is growing just a little with every handshake and genuine connection made. Being a chapter president has never been more exciting.
